However, the good news when I got home was a pile of plywood sitting on my front doorstep. Seb, Me, Junior and the two guys down from Junior are going to board up our windows soon come. I ran back into town to get more masonry screws, and Nat just showed up with more plywood, too.
My major concern still (now) is flooding. I moved most of the stuff downstairs, but if it starts looking like it's going to come in, I'll start moving it all back upstairs. I was worried about the roof, but the other neighbours said the roof was pretty sturdy and could probably take all but a direct hit.
I saw the pictures on CNN & Weather channel from grenada, with their 90% of all homes & buildings damaged and destroyed, and the reason that happened is that 90% of the homes and buildings were shantys! My apt building on the other hand is a concrete slab with reinforced block walls. Now with boarding up the windows, we should be snug as bugs in rugs.
More to come tonight! I have to go back in to work at 8:30 to down systems and do a walkabout checking to make sure everyone's machines are off, unplugged and up off the floor. After that it's probably off to the bar and trade war stories about preparations, and then come home and go to bed. Tomorrow I'll be doing final FINAL preparations, like making sure the birds are safe and stuff like that.
I'll continue making posts until our internet and/or power goes out tomorrow night/Sunday Morning
