Shivering on the 49th Parallel

We should start seeing more weather this evening. The eye of now-hurricane Charley should pass through here around midnight. I just went and took a picture of the flagpole at the airport, so you can see that it's hot and sunny here, with a LITTLE wind, but when i tried to mail myself the pic from the smartphone, it crapped out :-p I'll get it and update later.

Shutters are starting to go up here at work, and broadcast emails are starting to fillup from senior management with timetables and instructions and things like that. Non-essential staff are being sent home around 2pm. Guess what? I'm essential! I'll be here for awhile, until we shut down all the systems, so I'll keep making updates until the power goes out or we lose internet connectivity.

Update (13:32L) Found this website with a live webcam on the East End of Grand Cayman. It's pointed NNW, which is pretty much opposite from which way the storm is coming, but it's still a pretty good shot of the sky. there are links on the page for an ocean-view webcam and some shots of the guy's house, too.
