2005-10-19 Hurricane Wilma 001
Originally uploaded by DocJelly.

I just went down to the beach and took a few pictures. Nothing spectacular, but if you've seen any of my other photos of the area, you'll see what a difference there is. Some beach erosion, some bigger waves... I shot some video too but it's too big to post. Wilma's still slightly southwest of us. Once she passes and the wind is coming directly out of the south the waves hitting the shore across the street will get bigger for awhile and then they'll swing around and start coming from the west putting big waves ashore on Seven Mile Beach. We'll probably lose some more beach area due to erosion, but it'll come back in the winter when we get a Nor'Wester that moves from the opposite direction and DEPOSITS sand along SMB.

If you do a search for Hurricane Wilma on flickr, you'll turn up pages and pages of people who have posted images of the storm's track from the NHC's website... What the hell is up with that??? If I wanted to see a tracking map, never mind an OLD one, I would go to the NHC's website! Flickr is for sharing YOUR photos, jackasses!

[UPDATE] Since I finished uploading and typing this post, it's gotten a lot worse outside. It really looks like a hurricane out there now, as opposed to a gray rainy day.
