Two weeks ago, when I posted the first part/backstory of how Divers Supply Grand Cayman refused to stand by the work their technician did and caused my $800 dive computer to flood, all I was really doing was venting about how poorly I had been treated. When I left the shop, the manager, Ales, was going to forward me the contact info & case number for Suunto, the manufacturer of the computer. He never did and a week later I posted part two of the story.

Part two was slightly less coherent than the first, party because I was so pissed off that the piss and vinegar was flowing from head to fingers to blog so quickly. Part 2 of how I was treated so bad by Divers Supply Grand Cayman generated a few comments from a couple readers and then got picked up by and linked to from Divester.com last Monday.

By the end of the day Monday, there was so much more traffic coming in that on Tuesday morning I did a Google search on Divers Supply Grand Cayman and saw that "Fucked in the ass by Divers Supply Grand Cayman" was coming in at number 6 on the first page. I counted maybe 12 or 15 clickthroughs from Divester directly, and the number of page views without any referrer went up by a couple hundred (above the normal average) per day.

Since that first post a couple weeks back, I've gotten about a half-dozen emails from people telling me about THEIR poor treatment by Divers Supply Grand Cayman as well. Two were from other Dive Professionals, two were from customers who used to come down here and dive with me on a semi-regular basis and two were from random people who emailed me. On top of that, I've actually been stopped on the street (ok it was really in a bar) by people who had read the post and told me about their Divers Supply Grand Cayman horror story.

The one thing in common ALL the comments, emails and other points of contact have in common is that they all happened in the last couple of years. Co-incidentally, that's about the time that the former manager, Dennis, left the company. NONE of this would have happened on Dennis' watch. He was a hard-ass, but he was definately fair and always took good care of people. He understood that once in awhile you have to do something you don't particularly want to do, but have to do to keep loyal customers, well, loyal customers. Instead, Ales, the new manager has NOT done right by a loyal customer (me in this case) and created a lot of traffic on the internet about the piss poor treatment that you can expect from Divers Supply Grand Cayman.
