Earlier this morning I was preparing for this very post (since I decided that I hadn't been typing enough for the past few months) when I was sidetracked by the horrific
blue iguana slaughter that started making the rounds and this one got sidetracked.
The Caymanian Compass had a front-page story about a visitor who was detained over the weekend for a public display of affection... with his same sex partner. Some people at the bar didn't like it and ultimately he got a ride downtown to the police station before they realized that there was no crime and let him go. I was wondering what, if any, fallout there would be from it.
First up was the RSS feed from
Cayblogger who as usual has a terrifically
wicked rant. Seriously, do yourself a favor and read his blog archive.
About an hour ago I tried to send the
link to the Cay Compass online edition story to a friend of mine back home, but for some reason I was unable to connect to the site and neither was she.
A few minutes ago,
Giles sent me this link to
Perez Hilton's site which explains the website outage at CayCompass.
"The Digg Effect" as it were. At first glance I had no idea who Perez Hilton was. Was he Paris' little brother? Who knew? As soon as I clicked it and saw it was a celeb gossip site, I realize why I'd never heard of him before: I go out of my way to avoid this type of stuff like the plague!
I'd like to see the website statistics for the Caycompass.com website for today just for shits & giggles!
