Shivering on the 49th Parallel

So I made a new years resolution to sign up for Plaxo. Ive been getting “update requests” from people for a couple years now, and never did anything because I didn't want my details “out there” on the net. It's been a couple years now, though and they haven't had any security breaches or data theft, and no one I know who uses it has said anything bad about it. Kinda like ICQ at the beginning... I resisted Instant Messaging for a few weeks or months and my friends were all using it (this was before MSN, Yahoo or AIM even existed) and, well. Eventually I signed up for it and it changed my life...

So did Plaxo. I signed up for it and decided to put down my US Mailing Address for my “home” address, and thinking it was doing me a favor, Plaxo sent out an email to EVERYONE in my address book telling them that I had recently moved to the USA!

No. I did not move to the USA. All I did was change my mailing address to my US Freight Forwarder. In the last hour or so since I set it up, I've gotten nine emails back already saying “What happened to Cayman???”

So far it seems to be pretty cool, but that was a pretty big “oops” on the first day of use. If you want to add me, I used my mark at docjelly dot com address to sign up.
