Shivering on the 49th Parallel

There's a feature in Pluck called "perches" which is a shortened name of "Persistent Searches" and can be set up to scour Google, eBay or Amazon. I have Google perches set up on my full name and my online alias.

Normally, I see a bunch of blog posts that Google has spidered, a couple links to forums on Fark.com or HP's Customer Support forum, that sort of thing, and then there's that jackass in Chicago who has the exact same name as me who posts messages on some lesbian foot fetishist web board that turns up as well.

This was a new one though, and I was quite happy and surprised to find it. A couple years ago, while I was working for Bob Soto's Diving (No link, they've gone out of business now) we had a contract with Carnival Cruise Lines to do diving excursions and beginner scuba classes. I got handed a lot of beginner scuba classes, and usually I did the dry-land part of the course for the entire group of 16-24, and then we split up into groups of 4 for the water work and underwater tour. One day we had a writer and 2 photographers from Carnival tagging along to to write a story for their magazine, Carnival Currents. It was supposed to be printed in January 2004, but I never saw it or heard any feedback on it.

Imagine my surprise when it turned up on Google with a link to the article on their online version of the magazine! The article was pretty good, and mentions me and Shawna by name. I'd still like to see the print version, so if anyone happens to have a copy of the January 2004 Carnival Currents, a scanned copy would be nice :)
