Shivering on the 49th Parallel
Friday, September 10, 2004

We “Borrowed” some materials and boarded up all our windows this afternoon. Seb, Junior, Steve and I. Seb is a dive instructor, Junior is a fireman, Steve is a contractor at the Ritz-Carlton project, and me? I held the drill. Im a huge nerd :) it's really dark in here now, and I feel safer, even if it's just a warm-fuzzy feeling. A coconut at 150mph will go right through it.

Im all sweaty and gross now, so Im gonna go shower, and then get ready to go back to work. I've done all i can do (pretty much) so I'll come home and get some sleep and tomorrow just sorta be on alert. If it starts flooding here, I'll assess the levels and maybe start moving stuff back upstairs as needed.

I've plugged my internet and VoIP phone back in, so I'll be making some phone calls later on tonight, let mom and my brother know I'm ok. :-)

Hello, I have been monitoring your blog to get information about Ivan the Terrible and the local conditions. This site address was sent to me by my neice and nephew George and Darlene Knab. I have been concerned for them and your entire country. Thanks for the updates and the information. I hope that you and your family and friends will ride out this storm with safety. If you are in contact with George and Darlene, please give them my best.

Take care, Donna Rathman
