Shivering on the 49th Parallel
Monday, November 1, 2004

Two ships are in today, and things are looking more or less normal in Georgetown and Seven Mile Beach. Work Crews cleaned up the whole strip, and aside from not being many trees anymore and being able to see the buildings that used to be hidden by them, things on the whole seem to be looking up. There's a two-week trial period, and they're going to try and gauge the mood of the visitors as to whether or not they were satisfied with their experience here in Cayman before opening up for more ships-per-day.

According to the news this morning, inspectors have inspected and found 400 rooms at the Courtyard Marriot, Westin, Cobalt Coast and Marriot Beach Resort are acceptable and available for guests. The target date to start allowing stayover tourism is US Thanksgiving weekend.
